My Energy Star Way 2
Energy Star (trademarked ENERGY STAR) is an international
standard for energy
efficient consumer
products originated in the United
States. It was created in 1992 by the
Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy. Since then, Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Taiwan, and the European Union have adopted
the program. Devices carrying the Energy Star service mark, such as computer
products and peripherals, kitchen appliances, buildings and other products,
generally use 20–30% less energy than required by federal standards. In the United
States, the Energy Star label is also shown on EnergyGuide appliance label
of qualifying products.
Energy Star specifications differ with each item, and are set by either the
Environmental Protection Agency or the Department of Energy. The following
highlights product and specification information available on the Energy Star website.
About
Standards & Labeling Program
The Objectives of Standards
& Labeling Program is to provide the consumer an informed choice about the
energy saving and thereby the cost saving potential of the marketed household
and other equipment. This is expected to impact the energy savings in the
medium and long run while at the same time it will position domestic industry
to compete in such markets where norms for energy efficiency are mandatory.
The scheme was launched by the Hon'ble Minister of Power in May,2006 and is currently invoked for equipments/appliances Room Air Conditioner (Fixed Speed), Ceiling Fan, Colour Television, Computer, Direct Cool Refrigerator, Distribution Transformer, Domestic Gas Stove, Frost Free Refrigerator, General Purpose Industrial Motor, Monoset Pump, Openwell Submersible Pump Set, Stationary Type Water Heater, Submersible Pump Set, Tfl, Washing Machine, Ballast, Solid State Inverter, Office Automation Products, Diesel Engine Driven Monosetpumps For Agricultural Purposes, Diesel Generator Set, Led Lamps, Room Air Conditioner (Variable Speed), Chiller, Variable Refrigerant Flow, Agricultural Pumpset

labeled
by Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE). ... only by minimum 3 star
rated BEE labeled appliances. 7.3 Technical Guidance. Efficient air
conditioners ACs (air conditioners) are used to cool or heat a room and usually
consume the highest energy among all home appliances. Window ACs and split ACs
are most commonly used
CEE vs Energy
Star. ... The CEE developed the Super-Efficient Home Appliance Initiative,
outlining specifications for super efficiency by rating the energy
performance of clothes washers, refrigerators, dishwashers and room air
conditioners in tiers I-IV with IV being most efficient.
Energy
efficiency means using less energy to provide the same service. For
example, a compact fluorescent bulb is more efficient than a traditional
incandescent bulb as it uses much less electrical energy to produce the
same amount of light
ENERGY
STAR products are the same or better than standard products, only they use
less energy. To earn the ENERGY STAR, they must meet strict energy
efficiency criteria set by the US Environmental Protection Agency or the US
Department of Energy
Energy in India describes energy and electricity production, consumption and import in India. Energy policy of India describes the policies and strategies of India for achieving sustainable energy security to its people. Electricity sector in India is the main article of electricity in India. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy provides data regarding progress in the non-conventional energy sector.
Since 2013, total primary energy consumption in India has been the third highest in the world after China and the United States. India is the second top coal consumer in the year 2015 after China. India ranks third in oil consumption with 195.5 million tons in 2015 after the United States and China. India is net energy importer to meet nearly 45% of its total primary energy
India was the third top electricity producer in the world 1272 TWh in FY
2014–15. By 2013, India became the world's third largest producer of
electricity with 4.8% global share, surpassing Japan and Russia. India ranks 7th
